A low-grade fever occurs when the body temperature is elevated above normal. A fever is generally considered to be a body temperature greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. A body temp between 100.4 and 102.2 degrees is usually considered a low-grade fever. When body temperature rises above 102.2 degrees, it can be a sign of a more serious illness.
